It takes a community to keep our schools safe. Together, we must all do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19. Thank you for doing your part!
Arrival Information for coming to School:
Our school set up will look different again this year as we are working hard to ensure that our school community stays safe, healthy, and learning during our school days. For everyone’s safety, only students and staff will be permitted on school property. When arriving at our school property we will have different drop off zones for our students. Students are asked to arrive as close to 9:00am as possible and proceed directly to their class lines. Parents/families are to walk along city sidewalks or the community path between Bondar and St. Marguerite d’Youville. We respectfully request that parents remain on the pathways while their child walks independently to their drop off zone. Please say their “have a great day” from the pathways.
Our school buses will be the only vehicles accessing the driveway loop this year. This is to keep traffic at a minimum and assist us with safe arrival and drop off. We have active transportation signs along the school property for families to plan their walking route and get some fresh air before starting into the learning for the day. If you choose to drive your child to school, there are a couple of options;
- park in the neighbourhood and walk to the school property
- access parking at the Gloucester Presbyterian Church and walk your child to their designated drop off zone from there.
Keeping our Kids Healthy:
Walking to school, and getting exercise on the way to school is important this year more than ever. When students arrive at school property they will be expected to line up and wait for the bell. Using the extra time in the morning to walk to school to discuss the plan for the day and catching up, will benefit your child in many ways. Planning your arrival closer to our bell time will help to decrease the amount of standing/waiting time for your child.
We look forward to welcoming your child(ren), and are grateful for your support.
Kind regards,
