End of June Message

End of June Message

Dear Bondarians,

As we start into our final week of the 2018/19 school year we would like to thank you for a great year!  We have enjoyed working with your children and watching them grow! As we finalize report cards and look toward summer please be mindful of the need to practice our learning over the summer.  Reading daily will help to continue the growth students have experienced this year, as well as expand their love of reading. Playing board games, card games, and cooking will help them see connections between math and their home environment, as well as solidify their current relationship with numbers!

On a personal note, thank you for making my first year as Principal at Roberta Bondar a great experience.  I value all of the moments we have shared, and the learning experiences that have come my way. Mr. G and I, and all of the Bondar staff wish you all a safe and happy summer!

As our year comes to a close we will be wishing a few staff well, as they start into different adventures in the coming year.   We are celebrating two staff members, Patti Cromb and Colin Williamson, as they retire from teaching and begin their next adventures.  Both Patti and Colin have been integral in the lives of students at Bondar. We wish them well as they start a new path in their journey.

We have a few staff joining a different school team in September 2019.  We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Cristy Mockett, Anabelle Patterson, Wendy Chennette, and Alham Rashid this year.  Emmanuel Abate joined us in the spring, and effortlessly fit in with our team. They were an awesome addition to our family this year, and we wish them well in the coming school year.

Amy Trick will be moving to Steve MacLean Public School.  Amy was part of our dynamic Kindergarten team, as she welcomed our youngest Bondarians to school, and helped them to grow and discover in preparation for Grade 1.  Lindsay Foote will be moving to Vincent Massey Public School. Lindsay has worked within Bondar as a homeroom teacher and more recently with our learning support staff and her enthusiasm, energy and focus on overall student success is greatly appreciated.  Kyle Washington will be moving Glen Cairn Public School. Kyle’s collaboration within our Athletic Program and his leadership in Robotics have provided our students with a diverse pathway for learning and growing.

Have a safe and wonderful summer...See you in September!
