Bondar Update - March 14, 2021
Posted on 03/14/2021

Dear Bondarians:

We hope this email finds you safe and well!

Thank you to all the parents who have been waiting off school property to drop off and collect your child(ren).  The start of spring is usually when children want to stay outside to play with friends at the end of the day, while parents visit with each other. In order to keep everyone safe, and after consultation with Ottawa Public Health, we ask that parents please read and follow these guidelines to keep everyone safe as we move into Spring:

  • Please always wear a mask when you are at the school property;

  • During drop-off and pick-up, please keep your mask on and maintain physical distance of at least 2 meters from other parents and families;

  • To avoid the end-of-day crowding outside the school, please leave as soon as you have collected your child(ren).

Springtime Changes in Recess and Line-Up Procedures

As the snow melts, our field has become very wet and muddy.  For this reason we will shift our morning lineup and recess procedures, starting this week. To allow our fields to dry out properly our students will line up on the pavement. Students will continue to line up close to their previous lines (either at the side of the school or in the back). Cones will indicate where students are to line up, and staff will be available to help students find their new lineup locations.

For students who lineup at the back of the school, we recommend that they enter from the west side of the school (on the path along the staff parking lot).

For recess, we will shift students' play areas onto the playground from the field. Students will still be in their individual class cohorts. We also ask that students have rubber boots or other waterproof boots for going outside.
