Bondar Breakfast Club Starts September 17

September 13, 2018

Dear Bondarians

Food is fuel for learning and by starting each day with nutritious foods, students are able to approach their school day with energy and enthusiasm. Although we encourage students to eat breakfast at home with their families, we recognize there may be special circumstances that make this difficult.

Our Breakfast Program is in place to assist students in getting their day off to a good start and is run on a drop-in basis. The program is open to all students whose parents/guardians feel they would benefit from eating at school.

We are pleased to announce that our Breakfast Program will begin on Monday, September 17, 2018. Breakfast will consist of food options from at 3 of the 4 food groups. There will be an emphasis on fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and dairy products (cheese, yogurt, etc.).

Funding for this program is provided by a number of different governmental programs and private organizations and in overseen by the Ottawa School Breakfast Program. The largest funder is the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth (MCYS), and is supplemented by various partnerships and community donations. There is no charge to parents/guardians for the Breakfast Program.

If your child will be participating in the Breakfast Program and has a LIFE THREATENING ALLERGY, please print and complete the Breakfast Club Form (hard copy available in the office) and return it to the office before your child attends the program.
