Dear Bondarians;

The events of the last two weeks reiterate the impact of anti-Black racism, and the reality of lived experience for Black and racialized students. As a staff we look toward education as a powerful tool and we remain committed to speaking out against racism in all its forms. Thank you to our staff for supporting our students and responding to questions and concerns in GoogleMeets, and for continuing to listen in the coming weeks.

As a school, we have sought to weave anti-racism into our curriculum and our professional learning, in order to build a welcoming and safe environment for our students. We believe that the most important step we can take right now is to continue to listen to our students and parent community. We are committed to listening, learning, and improving. We invite you to share your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions at as we work together to support our community.

In the coming week parents can expect to soon receive a detailed message about report card timelines and delivery methods.  Report cards will be shared through an electronic portal, as has been standard practice for students in Grades 9 - 12. In order to access the portal, it is important that we have the correct email address for parents. For this reason, we will be sending an automated telephone call to all parents to ensure that they are receiving our email updates. If you are receiving this email, it means that we have your correct email address, and there is no need for further action.

We are pleased to announce that parent pick-up of student belongings will take place between Monday, June 22 and Wednesday, June 25. All student belongings will be “Bagged and Tagged” in plastic bags, and parents will have the option of collecting student belongings, or leaving them at school until the Fall. A separate email will be sent to parents asking whether they would like to pick up their child(ren)’s belongings at this time. In order to ensure safety and maintain social distancing, a pickup schedule will be shared with all parents.  We appreciate your support as this process moves forward.

We would like to remind all parents that our school and OCDSB support team is available to support families who are experiencing challenges during this time. Whether those challenges are related to student mental wellness, financial, or other, we are connected to the multiple OCDSB and City of Ottawa resources which are available to support our community. Please reply to this email at to access support.

To all of our families, enjoy your weekend: be well and stay healthy.
